I am pleased to announce that I have had a very successful week this past week. Not only did I put in 27 miles of walking/hiking I also continued my diet and lost a total of 10 pounds bringing my grand total to 15 pounds loss since the start of my endeavor.
This weekend John Haller and myself went to Hawn State Park right outside of Farmington, Missouri. We started at 11AM and hiked for 4 1/2 hours on the trail covering a total of about 9 miles, on this one hike alone I lost about 1,700 calories. Although I can say that I cannot wait for my big trip in Chile to anyone who enjoys hiking Missouri has a plethora of fantastic trails overlooking bluffs as far as the eye can see this one being no exception. Also, during this week I put in a 5 mile hike at home in Brentwood Forest to add to my total.
Once again I have changed the itinerary of my trip but this time is that last I finally know everything I am going to do. Just a side note I have every intention on going to all 7 continents in the world and the launching point for Antarctica happens to be in Argentina so I’ll be able to cover that later on. Therefore, I have decided to stay in Torres Del Paine National Park for my whole time in South America with an exception of one night in Santiago. They have a route there called The O Trek or The Circuit which consist of a 75 mile loop around the park and takes approximately 7-10 days. There is still a lot of work to be done to get the endurance to achieve this goal. However, after a month walking/hiking with no weight I intend to start walking with a pack and gradually increase weight every week.
The plan going forward is pretty straight forward as I intend to continue my walks and will try to end each week with a hike somewhere and to continue my diet. That being said if anyone ever wants to join by all means just reach out and I’m always looking for some company.
One last thing I will now try to stick to a schedule where I post every Monday instead of Sunday with this week being the exception.
